Community Involvement

The Wakefield UU Church has three Community Ministries that represent our principles and commitments:

1. a Welcoming Ministry, creating a safe space and honoring the worth and dignity of each person;

2. a Social Action Ministry, an expression of our UU principles in the community;

3. and the Music Ministry, touching hearts with the universal language of music.

Other community involvement includes the following:

We staff My Brother's Table a soup kitchen in Lynn, every other month.
Each December, we sponsor at least one (usually 3-4) family's holiday celebration through the Salvation Army.
We support the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry and have a special collection each March and April.
We support Gathering Change, Inc. and collect change during the month of May.
Linden Tree Food coop allows basic food items to be purchased in bulk. Click HERE to contact George Snow for more information.
Linden Tree Coffeehouse presents local and national folk performers.
Our congregation supports Riverside Community Health Care
Kids Curtain Call
Wakefield Laugh Club
Irish Step Dance for children.
Fundraising concerts by various groups
