And, here's Charlie!

How it all started:
Rev. Maddie Sifantus and Peter Stickel launched a music series to benefit the Building Fund. Featuring virtuoso performers of Gospel, Classical, Jazz and Rock, the series - “Standing Room Only” premiered October 17, 2009 here at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Wakefield.
With a 7:30pm downbeat on Saturday, October 17, The Vocal Section (TVS) presented Raising the Roof, a program of gospel, R&B and spirituals. TVS is three of Boston’s hottest vocalists combining their talents in a vibrant, soulful ensemble. Sopranos include our own Rev. Maddie Sifantus and Suzanne Boucher, along with alto Sally Sweitzer, Backing them up is a band with guitar, electric bass and piano. TVS recording credits include the movie soundtracks to The Secret of Roan Inish and Dick Tracy, as well as the Love Dogs’ latest CD, New Tricks. Click HERE for details.
A Candlelight Christmas takes place Sunday evening, December 20 at 7:00pm. A string orchestra with members of New England String Ensemble and colleagues will perform Christmas masterpieces and will serve as accompanists to some of Wakefield’s world-class vocalists. Featured singers for the evening include Leigh Barrett, Joseph Holmes, Nathan Hylan and Holly Zagaria.
Valentines Day with jazz vocalist, Paul Broadnax. The Sweet Sound of Love, Remembering Nat King Cole, takes place February 14 at 7:00pm. With bassist Peter Kontrimas accompanying, the program showcases the rare talents of a singer/pianist about whom the great singer Joe Williams said, “I feel like I’m passing the torch.”
Perfect as a Valentine date or a luxurious walk down memory lane, this concert features Paul singing Sweet Lorraine, Straighten Up and Fly Right, Embraceable You, Route 66, L.O.V.E., and much more. Champagne intermission includes chocolate truffles lovingly made by Tartarini’s Chocolate Shoppe of Wakefield. Non-alcoholic alternatives to champagne will also be served. Tickets are available at Silver Clay, 391 Main St, Wakefield, at the door or by calling 781.245.4632
